Jean-Baptiste Thouvenel
An interesting violin from Mirecourt, France, branded to the inside of the back (Thouvenel-Henry a Mirecourt).
Jean-Baptiste Thouvenel (1788 - 1858)
married a Madame Henry. As was very common in Mirecourt at that time, he added his wife's name to his name, thereafter branding his instruments "Thouvenel-Henry".
Made probably in about the 1820-30s,
this is a handsome old violin in good condition.
